I keep thinking that the whole fake photograph and apology situation was entirely manufactured to discredit both himself, and the greater UFO subject. It seems implausible that a man of his background could mistakenly present a bullshit photo as legit. Especially one as bad as the pic in question.

I feel like Elizondo's whole presence in the UFO community has been one large debunking and discrediting operation. And who better to carry it out than a career, smoke & mirrors, counterintelligence officer with the implied credibility of government.
