Been going through a big pile of my client's cast off computers to see what can be salvaged and repurposed and repaired and what goes to e-waste.
Managed to put to return 5 laptops and 6 desktops to useful service at a local day center for unhoused people in my area.
Most systems needed relatively simple things like bios updates, new cmos batteries, hdd- > ssd and more ram, fan replacement and fresh pasting and of course OS reinstalls.
