I LOVE fiddle heads. I have only foraged them one time and they tasted kinda like asparagus, but I think they were better. As far as edibility, I have heard of ostrich fern and bracken fern being eaten, but I'm not sure how to identify them. Ferns have spores so you could probably identify them with a microscope. Some ferns can be poisonous so definitely be sure before eating.
