San Rafael Swell, UT
I've visited this amazing area twice. I've planned out another camping trip for later this spring. This photo is from near the south end of the Swell. Muddy Creek flows right to left in front of the far ridge.
The San Rafael Swell is a large geologic feature located in south-central Utah, measuring approximately 75 by 40 miles (121 by 64 km), consists of a giant dome-shaped anticline of sandstone, shale, and limestone that was pushed up 60–40 million years ago. -
