At bottom, Windows 8 was high maintenance, bug ridden, crash prone and came with other nasty surprises that got in the way of work. The UI was poor and confusing... at one point it would switch between Metro Mode and something else almost at random. It began to feel as if maintaining my (and the family's) Windows laptops was my main job and earning an income was secondary.
