Are some genres taken more seriously than others? How does this make you feel?
Some people feel that fantasy and scifi aren't as "good," interesting, evocative, and moving--speaking to the human condition--as bog-standard literary fiction which takes place in our regular world.
Those people are wrong.
How do I feel? Sorry for them. They're missing out on some wonderful literature and exciting, magical stories.
