The land is useless, with the dams limited farming was possible, there was liking some power generation, but sure. This has been a long battle, farming has wiped out. I understand their position, but I think the great good would have been achieved by leaving the dams in place. This will likely become a precedent in the western US for more dam removals. If they had their way dam on the Columbia and Snake rivers would be removed, great reducing hydro power, green power.
