Every time gender segregation is brought up around bathrooms and changing rooms, it is as an excuse for why real privacy isn't necessary. It's invoking the single-sex defence against loss of dignity. It's the "Well, that doesn't count," move. I do not agree that it makes any difference. If I have to excrete or undress with an audience, it's not any better for the audience to be segregated.
