I just paid another 449,400 sats to people putting my #bitcoin stickers in public.
This officially ends my latest sticker bounty. If you didn't see my other post, this bounty was cancelled early due to scammers posting old photos from past bounties. If you believe I missed your valid submissions, please DM me a link and I will make it right.
When I first started this sticker project more than a year ago, I was paying 21,000 sats just for putting a sticker in public. I was amazed when people actually took time out of their day to do it! This evolved over time as the project scaled. Now that it's scaled even further, I'm no longer able to run bounties and guarantee sats for everyone.
In total, I've paid out tens of millions of sats which resulted in thousands of stickers being put in public. More than 7,000 people have scanned the stickers in public and taken their first steps down the bitcoin rabbit hole. For that reason alone, it was worth every sat.
Going forward, I'll still be mailing free sticker packs to anyone who requests them. And I'll still be building more resources to accelerate bitcoin adoption. Most of you said you would still put these stickers in public even without a financial incentive, and I am so humbled to hear that.
My plan is to occasionally zap people who send me photos of their latest sticker spots. So you can still sometimes earn sats, but they won't be guaranteed like they were with bounties. I'm hoping this will result in people putting them in public simply to spread bitcoin adoption.
Managing sticker bounties takes up a surprising amount of time. I'm excited to be able to allocate that time to building new things. I have a bitcoin project I'm building that I'm really excited to launch next year. If you like the stickers, you'll love what I'm working on. I'm not ready to share more info yet, but you'll be the first to know when I am.
None of this would have been possible without the support of all of you. If you've ever put a sticker in public, you've helped spread bitcoin adoption and put a huge smile on my face. As I've evolved the project over time, you've all been tremendously supportive. And for that, I am truly grateful.
This project has brought me so much joy and has helped scratch an itch to accelerate bitcoin adoption in some way. It's shown me the power of community and just how awesome Bitcoiners are. We are all here working towards a brighter future that we may never even see. But we continue to push forward every day. We continue to orange pill those around us. We continue to fix the money so we can fix the world.
This is a lot of words to say: THANK YOU! I'm excited to take what I've learned from this sticker project and use that to make my next project even better.
So stay tuned, because this is not the end. This is simply a new beginning 🫡
