i still don't find the "choice of language determines memory safety" argument compelling, because it ignores safety measures of implementations - let alone the question how relevant memory safety alone is compared to other aspects. just counting loc of projects is inadequate to the question. the #rust #dogma actually deterres me, and while i *do* see compile time checks as relevant progress, i wish we could get a more differentiated view of the problem. #c
