Nostr DMs are garbage (for me) and I'd hide them entirely if I could. I pretty much did that by just not clicking the icon in #Amethyst. It makes more sense to put an indictor on the messages icon if you insist that I see them (this is a rational setting if you have DM). I've gotten two DMs that weren't spam during my entire time using Nostr. Putting that into my notifications is really pissing me off, when I could have been left to just passively ignore DMs like I had been.
I'm having my face rubbed in DM shit and I'm not a fan. I also had my face rubbed in drafts shit and had to work around that.
Having your face rubbed in shit as a user really sucks. And if you can't manage user choice for features, then your app has too many.
Amethyst is passing the tipping point of being more annoying than useful for me. I know it doesn't matter and nothing will change in the development mentality for this software. That's fine and has been made abundantly clear. I'm searching for alts. But I hope this is at least useful to someone out there doing stuff involving UX for #Nostr.
