I agree with that. A solution could arise at some point. But as it stands today, custodial is our best solution. Even with fees low, most Bitcoiners today are using custodial lighting wallets (including myself). I know other people that gave up on self custody lightning because the force closed channels costed them way more than just a full on rug lmao.
