Summary re Blixt Wallet (blixtwallet.github.io) discussion last night at weekly @BOBSpaces_BKK meetup:
- Blixt works best on Android and functions abstractly as a private LND node (Neutrino node) on your phone.
- Uses LND AEZEED mnemonics for wallet recovery key; gives familiar looking 24-word seed phrase.
- Similar to Phoenix and Breez but lower abstraction level (meaning you can adjust more settings and see/customize the back end Lightning channel management more granularly).
- Blixt has a pretty stable in-app Tor function, so don’t need separate Tor app like Orbot. Zeus LN needs to consider this.
- Enabling Tor makes connecting private channels from your own Tor-only node a breeze. Pleb node runners normally run Tor-only nodes given that’s the default for node packages like Umbrel, myNode.btc, etc.
- Blixt’s LSP inbound liquidity function, even in beta, looks much slicker than other wallets.
- Blixt can be used as an additional tool to manage your node’s liquidity, if you know what you’re doing.
- And very important, make sure to open only Private channels from your node to Blixt. As
hampus (npub1v4v…xwu8) keeps repeating, Blixt isn’t meant to be a routing node, so shouldn’t have public channels.
This would be a 4-5 part post on the birdie app. That's why #Nostr
