Unfortunately it's not clear that there are any decent alternatives. If we assume this was law enforcement, practically any reputable provider will succumb to a court order. However we definitely have plans to expand our offering to other locations and providers, we just haven't identified which locations/providers are suitable yet.
Snikket apps do E2EE and we continue to minimize the data we store server-side. But if you want physical security, we will always encourage self-hosting!
