I’m not arguing this is a pro-consumer move, of course it isn’t. But Apple has through its own policies, continuously asserted that it and its platform matter more than the developers that make up said platform, as a way of getting devs to follow often arbitrary and capricious decisions. Netflix is a service and platform that does not need to kowtow to anyone. *Most* users will not give up Netflix for Apple. And this is a good way to prove that. Again, not consumer friendly, but I get it.
