The issue with cds is that they degrade with time. They are not a heirloom to be passed down like vinyl. I have a huge collection of cds, half of them ruined with fungus or whatever. Lota of money down the drain... at least with vinyl, as long as I treat it properly, I can enjoy it while I live and leave it behind after I am gone.
