Overall, it's just a very poorly designed OS, starting from the kernel. Remember that Torovaltos vs Tannenbaum argument about microkernels? Welp, if L'Eunice wasn't so far deep up his own ass and L'Eunuchs was a microkernel, we wouldn't have most of the problems we are having with this kernel right now. There's no API versioning (because stable-api-nonsense.txt and because api versioning is too hard for kernel devs). There's no ability to survive a driver crash, something even Windows has! Instead, there is a fucking JIT compiler and a virtual machine for bytecode right in the fucking kernel, because where else could it be.
