Looks like you found a solution already, but in case anyone else is looking:
That 8-pin connector is called E8M EIAJ (sometimes just EIAJ, sometimes other things).
It was used for both digital RGB (as with the Roland) as well as an all-in-one composite video solution for early camcorders and VTRs.
When I was looking, the only source I could find for new EIAJ connectors was from this company, and they actually have a cable pre-built for the Roland:
