And the best way to stop them is to recall that history is an evolving project where one autocratic evil often trumped another. The “American experiment” aimed to prove that we the people could do better. Sadly, we’ve failed to keep our democracy safe first, preferring to focus on a cornucopia of injustices. That lack of focus may soon destroy liberal government and all the goods it brought to humanity. And everyone will suffer for it.
