By the way, I don't *really* think of Tim Cook as a "soulless paperclip maximizer of a CEO" . I think he's actually a very *good* CEO insofar as he's doing his job very effectively and maximizing the long term value of Apple (rather than obsessing over the 90 day bottom line and his stock options). But "a good CEO" is not necessarily good for society in the large: from outside Apple, Tim Cook must look to his competition like a Borg Cube approaching.
