I get it.

I asked because I believe we would have more success with an incremental proposal - shutting down the airport, when it is used jointly by federal military, medi-flight, government search and rescue, as well as private individuals and corporations, feels like a non-starter. I mean, I'm team eat the rich, but I don't know the percentage of flights through Hanscom are by the 1%.

I'd counterpropose a phase-out plan thats less audacious - Increase Hanscom fees to pay down the Big Dig debt that keeps us from having world class bus and train service, and get us on the path to a free T.

Something like, double the fees charged to combustion engine airplane users starting in 2024, annually through 2035, with a full phase out of non-electric private flights there by 2035.

This proposal would be more likely to be considered by electeds.

I want to be clear - we need to keep coming up with ideas to change the status quo, and I'm mad as hell that my life is going to be further messed up by this catastrophe. You pitched an idea I'd never considered, I'm trying to figure out a way we might achieve the end goal.
