Honestly, all of the above seem right. The Tories as a whole seem so thoroughly disconnected from the lives of the average Canadian that it's almost laughable; further, they're so far in the pockets of heavy industry that the old, hoary joke writes itself.
Any claims -- frequently those espoused by these Conservatives -- that eliminating the carbon tax will somehow cause prices to drop on the consumer side are risible at best. The ratchet effect is in full play here: corporations have no reason to drop costs of consumer goods in response to a sudden windfall, now that they've determined that the market can and will bear their higher prices (up to a certain point, anyway).
