I just had a short story accepted for publication. In a Groucho Marx way, I always wonder what's wrong with the publication, they want my stuff. Then I have to immediately read the story to ease my anxiety about publication--what did I get wrong? How will it mortify me? This story surprised me with its loveliness.
If I ever get a novel accepted by a publisher, I'll probably have to lie down so I don't have a straight-away heart attack.
