The claim that #bitcoin has no “intrinsic value”, besides its scarcity, is senseless. Sure, a bitcoin might not be a physical coin (even though electrons and bits in logic gates on a computer are equally as real as the atoms in a gold bullion), but the service Bitcoin provides is valuable. It’s the only money that is on a decentralized and verifiable open ledger; the only money that’s infinitely divisible; the only money that can be held in one’s head across time and space; the only money that’s non-inflationary (and in some instances deflationary); the only money that is cryptographically secure; the only money that is purposefully engineered to be money; and much more.

If that’s true then no piece of information ever has any value — that’s a verifiably false assumption (philosophy, language, science…)
