During one fellowship, here in San Francisco, the 'mentor' for my cohort just didn't seem to want me in the room at all and ignored everything I said regardless if it was just us fellows (all men) or the bigger sessions with more students.

I was mentioning this to a friend, and he decided to see how may times it would take for my voice to be heard.

It was never, until he repeated what I'd said. And then the 'teacher' attributed it to my friend and not me.

Yeah, the friend was a guy.
