Turns out is wasn't the mass hysteria of the common man everyone makes it out to be.
It was a power play from the elite for control.
The populace was disgusted and fought back.
Men with guns provided refuge.
Jury acquitals were common,
demonstrations and petions were widespread.
People even used tactical counter propaganda to accuse those leading the Witch hunt of witchcraft.
Brilliant really, turning the mechanism in on itself.
Important lessons here for our era.
