well that was an interesting hour fault finding the camera on my octopi PI
issue one (very embarrassing) i plugged the camera ribbon cable into the DSI (display) connector
DOH!!!!!
issue two, i had legacy camera support turned on (always had to enable camera in config)
turned off legacy camera support and suddenly the camera burst into life
how does that work ????
