Without Bitcoin, America will run over the Triffin Dilemma and crash and burn. Every empire has a natural life span, after all. But bitcoin resets the board, which gives America another chance. Its not really fair, but I'm not complaining.
In that light, I think the spam attacks are playing with fire. Its only a matter of time until Bitcoin's security is considered national security. I'm no statist... But its coming. And these spammer types are not going to have fun.
