Punjabi people have two names anyway - our official name and a second one, an entirely uncorrelated nickname. So now I feel that "Sunanda" is my formal/official name. I've never been called that by loved ones. I honestly think my nickname (Chhavi) could've been my "real" name. Even the nickname that I was given in college (Sue) sounds more like the "real" me. Just as well, many languages don't have a "chh" consonant and can't pronounce it.
