I'm not going to lie—being a woman in STEM isn't easy, especially in leadership positions where, if you don't have a strong personality, people walk all over you. There are opportunities now, that has changed a lot. But what hasn’t really changed is the people. I've been underestimated so many times, my ideas have been dismissed, and I haven't been given the respect I deserve. I hope that changes someday, and I believe the way to make that happen is by setting an example—by going far and inspiring other women to do the same.
