Staggering the progress made.
I came here 2 years ago and there was 1 lonely merchant.
Andre Loja thought he must be the only bitcoiner on Madeira!
Now there are 110 ish merchants, dozens of local and expat bitcoiners as well as a regular tech cohort (Sovereign engineering) and bitcoin classes in Portuguese (and soon English).
Bitcoin is still not widely recognised and its eons away from being universally accepted.
And yet madeira has sowed the bitcoin seed that’s spreading fast thanks to a caring local bitcoiner community.
This is a shining example of what you can achieve, in Europe no less, if you’re mad enough to dream it and dogged enough to put the work in.
