This was one of the good days to who I believe to be a truly exceptional and historic human being: Ross Ulbricht
I think Ross is just at the start of the amazing things he’s going to do for people and help contribute to humanity
quoting note1ca7…caghThe sad part is that while Biden commuted the sentences of 2500 people convicted of drug crimes, he never once considered letting Ross Ulbricht go free. He also could have chosen to release them from prison right after taking office in 2021, instead of allowing them to lose precious years away from their families and homes. Not only are laws against drugs possession and sales too harsh, they’re morally wrong, and they are the tragic cause of so many young mens’ futures being stolen, mostly those from low-income and minority communities.
Ross Ulbricht idealistically believed that if people could simply conduct these types of transactions online instead of in person, they would be more safe and more free. For that, and for being the first to do it, he paid with what would have been the rest of his life, until today.
Ironically, the Democrats had many opportunities to right this wrong over the past 12 years, but because of hubris, or allegiance to the misguided relics within their party, refused to do so.
They could have owned this issue and freed not only Ross, but thousands of other nonviolent convicts as well.
