Civil disobedience is itself a repressive term, because it places some legitimacy on whatever it is people are supposed to be 'obeying'.
Protesting to save lives and save the planet is not disobedient - it's vital. In a democracy (if we had one), politicians would stop, and think, 'maybe we should be listening to this'.
Arrogance, greed and self-interest prevent them from doing so, but it doesn't make them right.
