Rust isn't that hard. Just read the book and learn the high level concepts then let the llm fight the borrow checker for you. My code is shit but it runs. Once you have something that runs it's 10x easier to optimize. Don't bother optimizing before it works.

As for easy first issues you could replace all the places where the proxy accesses redis with HTTP apis at the mint. I haven't made issues for this but I'm happy to dive in with you if you are ready to start coding. We can set something up next week, just lmk.
