That doesn't contradict anything I said. Israel has built several bases and continued to destroy weapons caches left behind by the Assad regime. There was an attack against the new regime forces when they defied a warning not to deploy south of Damascus. It remains to be seen if the new regime will become an ally of Israel, it's too early to say, but the allies I previously referred to who are within the former Assad regime's territory are not currently the same people as the replacement regime, which still seems to be having an internal battle over whether it will replicate Assad's discrimination of minorities in Syria or if it will come to represent a genuine difference and be a government for all Syrians.
