Time for a bit of USA envy for Mexico. "Mexico elects leftist Claudia Sheinbaum as the first female president in its history "

"Sheinbaum, a leftwing climate scientist and former mayor of Mexico City, won the presidency with between 58.3% and 60.7% of the vote, according to a rapid sample count by Mexico’s electoral authority."

Not only is she the first woman head of state of mexico, she's the first head of state for any of the three "european" North American nations. (There were a lot of pre European conquest nations and I don't know their history very well,)
Leftist and climate scientist are also two more promising attributes.
The LA times thinks she's best known in Mexico for reducing the homicide rate in Mexico City with a combination of reducing corruption among police and introducing community support programs that redirect people most likely to be violent to community support programs.
