yea they are everywhere down here. We call them bag worms. Little dishsoap and water sprayed on them will do the trick. Can mix in a little neem oil as well.
I also hear that if you rip open their nest birds will get in there and eat them but I have not tried it. The only trees I care they get into are my pecan, the rest are either w/e or they leave alone.
