At the very beginning of the war this solution was in the making. But it was prevented by intervention from the Americans, in particular by Boris Johnson who played a particular evil role in commanding the Ukraine: No peace talks like this! You have to go on with a war.
I’m sure that at the end of this the Ukraine will have suffered tremendously. Hundreds of thousands of people will be dead. And what they will get in the end is far less than what they could have had at the very beginning if they simply had ignored the advice, the pressure coming from the United States and from Britain in particular. Now the hole thing will end badly and it all could have been avoided.
