feeding my test relay #replicatr 180Gb of nostr event data is really slowing down my pc
i have 64gb 3200Mhz DDR4 memory, and a decently fast SSD, and aside from running a few web pages and my IDE it's pretty much a bust... all the free memory is being used voraciously by disk caches and memory buffers to the point where i feel like i'm back on a 4Gb machine trying to run a modern web browser
the good news is it's chopping through the data now... 50gb read in, 130gb to go... it might even finish processing before sunset at this rate
i probably should sit down and read a book instead of wasting my time trying to use my computer while this runs
