Just talking with a friend & we concluded that part of the issue in the UK is the #political system is just exhausted.... both tired, but also as in having used up all its political & economic capital.
Our immediate plight may be really an aspect of a long political arc that sees countries rise & then fall... if so, my hopelessness may have good historical grounding, which to be frank is little consolation.
As you can imagine, that was an uplifting coffee at a friend's.... not!
