Maybe this is a stupid question. But why do we not hard fork #bitcoin as soon as possible to avert the year 2106 problem?
Wouldn’t it be significantly easier to hard fork now while bitcoin is still <1% global adoption and only *really* used and understood by actual bitcoiners?
I’m surprised to see the lack of urgency for, what seems to be, a rather uncontroversial modification.
Please tell me why I’m wrong!
