BasedShoes (npub1vlm…v77c) for the lesson on why barefoot is better and how regular shoes can mess up our feet, bodies and brains (our feet are sensors, telling us what’s going on with the ground. regular shoes mess up that sensor capability).
At this meetup, we started a tradition called #BlockTalks - anyone can speak for 10 mins on a topic of their choosing. I spoke about my on-the-ground experience in #Madeira and how I hope to bring the good efforts of
freemadeira (npub1etg…8n6e) on-boarding merchants to Canada.
We then proceeded to do a balance contest, winner took 12k sats, and where I clearly demonstrated I needed more practice.
We concluded the meetup by doing the first official bitcoin retail purchase. This was by far my biggest wallet transaction yet. All in Bitcoin. I had been considering purchasing for several months now, and seeing my purchasing power increase by almost 100%, now was the time to take the plunge. The transaction went through flawlessly!
