as I understand
Schnorr sig incentivizes privacy enhancing coinjoin tx over regular 1 input 2 output tx but this requires cisa which is not included in current taproot activation. Original reason for research into schnorr sig was to enable cisa according to Peter Wuille himself.
He also mentioned that schnorr by itself fairly boring improvement over ecdsa.
