A cool thing I used to participate in, but haven’t had time for lately.
It’s a facebook group called “Hardware Jams”; musicians that play live with hardware. Typically synths and drum machines, and occasional “traditional” instruments.
Every week there is a “Weekend Challenge”; a prompt gets dropped on Friday morning, and everyone has until Monday to record a short jam.
A live streamthrough happens on Monday, and an no-stakes poll is taken.
It’s effectively a virtual open-mic. The community is super warm and friendly, and there is some INCREDIBLE talent in the space.
It’s really cool to see what folks come up with on such a short timeline.
