Did I say anything about your race, age, gender, or weight? No, no I did not. I've seen this same sentiment come from many people of every group of humans who haven't thought through the implications of "doing something" about scams and fraud without thinking through all of the follow on impacts to marginalized people. Yes, even marginalized people can find it hard to see this sort of stuff if you're not used to seeing the problem with trying to trade privacy for security.
