With an 8 billion world population I think it's a bit much for anyone to think they are owed a top spot on any search engine.
I mean sure, you might have worked hard at whatever it is you're doing, but chances are there are more than a few* in that 8 billion who are working hard as well.
* - sadly some of them will be using more dirty tricks as "search engine optimization." SEO always verging on the shady.
