there are stereotypes for a reason, but i think that the expectation that you know about the common "done thing" in the culture you are interacting with is pretty universal
there's the "silly foreigner" -out, and usually a great deal of appreciation for trying to make an effort, but all cultures have their mores and expectations.
interacted with any finns lately? norwegians seem positively enthusiastic in comparison.
