Getting practical lessons in ecology.
There was a lot of rain last winter. That resulted in a lot of vegetation in spring, including overgrown trails. It also resulted in more insects than usual, so we get bitten more and there are more spiders (ugh!). The ample food supply also means way more lizards than I've seen before and it's been nice having more birds in the garden (the quail are so cute!). There also seems to be way more pollen in the air and the car quickly starts turning a shade of yellow when parked outside. Friends complaining of non-stop allergies too.
