Major Tom is my first old cat and that is because every cat I had as a kid either died an untimely death or got left behind by my parents during one of our numerous moves. I am absolutely honoured to have an old cat now. I remind myself of this every time I start to even think about feeling resentful about cleaning up his toileting accidents for the third time today or worrying about his health issues.
