A dog is a big commitment and some times it turns out that it was a mistake to take that on. Maybe another dog in the family is unhappy or maybe it nips at the kids or perhaps your circumstances change and you can't excercise it enough. Finding someone who can look after that dog better than you can is the right thing to do, the responsible thing to do and people/organisations who can't see that lack imagination as to what levels of neglect not doing so may cause.
